Lions @ Saints -6.5
Hexagram 24: Returning. The Saints are always happy to return home. No opposing team has been able to slow down the Saints in the Super Dome this year. Not only are the Saints undefeated at home this year, but the fewest points they have scored in a single home game is 27 in a win against Tampa a few weeks ago. Without suspended Ndamukong Suh, the Lions will not benefit from the usual pass rush from the defensive line. They have other good players on that line, but losing Suh is deflating in many ways. There is not only the emotional impact of losing such an impact player, but the other players become easier to block when the guy you have to double team every time he is on the field is not on the field.
I think one matchup that will play a huge part in this game is the Detroit secondary and New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham. Graham has been a revelation this year in the Saints offense. He is just 47 yards short of 1,000 and has scored 8 touchdowns in 11 games this season. Drew Brees will have more time to throw with the Lions lacking Suh and if the Lions can’t figure out a way to deal with the size and athleticism of Graham, then they will have no chance of being the first visiting team to win in New Orleans this year.
